About Me

My interest in tech's 'next big thing' started early and never stopped

Steve Koulias

Looking sharp, and looking ahead.

I’ve always been an early adopter. I was the kid excited about the first wireless laptops, MP3 players, smartphones, 3D printing, VR, smarthomes, and whatever's coming next. I’ve been lucky to live through wave after wave of technology that changes everyday life, and I’ve always wanted to understand it early and be part of where it was going.

That same instinct shaped my career from the very start. I didn’t want to specialize in one technology. I wanted to stay close to the next one.

Early on, I worked as an IT manager for some small businesses. I liked being an 'IT generalist' because it gave me an overall view of how the systems, people, and the business fit together. I also knew that I didn't want to build my career around a single tool or platform that would become outdated a few years later.

Project management was the way.

It let me to stay close to the technology while using my communication and people skills to work in larger organizations to bring teams together, connect technical work to business goals, and keep complex projects moving forward.

Throughout my career, I've gone from infrastructure and retail technology into conversational AI, automation, and robotics. The tools keep changing, which is exactly what keeps me interested.

What has stayed the same is my interest in what's next, and helping turn new technologies into something that's actually useful and reliable.
